Info about tattoo bookings

For bookings please include; placement, size, colour or black and grey, references pictures and which tattooist you'd like to book with. Including as much detail as you can makes things easier for everyone, so we can get you booked in sooner and avoid playing email tennis!

Don't book in unless you're 100% sure on what you'd like, or if you will be going on holiday within two weeks of when you would like to book. Exposure to sun/sunbeds and submerging tattoos in water can have detrimental effects on the way tattoos heal; at least two weeks healing is necessary before doing any of these.

If you're planning on using numbing cream or pain relief you MUST tell us in advance - if you don't tell us in advance we may not be able to tattoo you and you may lose your deposit. We cannot accept any liability for any effects of numbing creams or pain reliefs and we do not provide or sell them in the shop.

Bookings are not final until we can confirm we've received your deposit.

48 hours notice is required for cancellations, after this point deposits will not be refunded.

If you book in without coming into the shop, please a bring photo ID with you (eg provisional/driving license or passport - hard copy, not a photo of your ID). If you're asked for ID on the day of your appointment and can't provide it you may lose your deposit - we will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18 under any circumstance.

All customers are given verbal and written aftercare instructions, please pay attention to these but if you have any doubts give us a call or come in to see us. These can also be found below.

We recommend parking at Trafalgar Street Car Park - it's about a 5 minute walk from the shop and is the cheapest option close by. http://www.trafalgarstreetcarpark.com

For some medical conditions we recommend bringing a chaperone, so please let us know if you think this may apply to you. We do not tattoo or pierce anyone who is pregnant or nursing - feel free to contact us for more information about this.

If you're not feeling well please don't come to your appointment, just let us know as soon as possible.

Tattoo Aftercare

Getting a tattoo involves breaking the skin surface, so there is always a potential risk for infection to occur afterwards. Your tattoo should be treated as a wound initially and it is important that the advice below is followed so the infection risk is minimal.

Follow these tips:

- Avoid unnecessary touching and any scratching or picking of the site to reduce the risk of infection.

- Always wash and dry your hands before and after touching the tattoo site.

- Your new tattoo will consist of an area of tiny punctures caused by the tattooing needles. It should be kept covered afterwards for at least an hour by the dressing used by your tattooist. This dressing is intended to get you home without the area catching on clothing or being exposed to the air. The dressing will also help any bleeding/fluid oozing, but should be removed before it dries onto the treated area.

- After removal of that dressing, gently wash the tattoo site with warm tap water and mild soap. Pat dry with a clean piece of kitchen towel, then leave your tattoo to dry out for a minimum of 10 minutes before covering again with clingfilm. During this time keep your tattoo clean and out of contact with any surfaces including clothing, furniture etc.

- Continue to clean and re-cover your tattoo every 4-5 hours for 2 days, after which you may leave the dressing off.

- After this point, keep your tattoo clean and start to apply a thin layer of cream at least twice a day - we recommend Palmer’s Cocoa Butter or E45 Cream.

- Shower rather than bathe during the healing process, so as not to soak the tattoo.

- After approximately 2 weeks, any scabbing should have gone and been replaced with new, intact skin. The area should be completely healed in another 10-14 days.

- Avoid swimming, sun bathing and sun beds until your tattoo is fully healed.

- Always keep your tattoo covered whilst in dirty/dusty/oily environments and always keep the tattoo away from human hair (to the best extent possible), animal hair and any fabrics with fine fibres such as fur, faux fur and knitwear.

IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY PROBLEMS OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO COME INTO THE SHOP, SEND US AN EMAIL OR GIVE US A CALL.
